Duo FiloSophie

Il Duo FiloSophie nasce dall'incontro fra il mezzosoprano Sophie Marilley ed il pianista Filippo Farinelli, e si pone l'obiettivo di divulgare il repertorio meno conosciuto e meno battuto della musica vocale da camera, concentrando la ricerca verso compositori troppo spesso considerati di secondaria importanza e affiancando detto repertorio a quello ormai consolidato dallo star system. Da questi intenti si è concretizzato un primo progetto legato alla figura di André Jolivet (1905-1974), con la registrazione in prima mondiale dell'integrale delle mélodies per voce e pianoforte uscito per l'etichetta discografica olandese Brilliant Classics. Alla realizzazione di quest'ultimo hanno preso parte anche i baritoni Christian Immler e René Perler. Tra i prossimi progetti vi è la registrazione integrale delle mélodies di Jean Françaix nell'occasione del centenario della nascita che ricorrerà nel 2012.

The Duo FiloSophie brings together the mezzo-soprano Sophie Marilley and the pianist Filippo Farinelli, with the aim of introducing audiences to little-known works of vocal chamber music, concentrating on composers who have often been considered minor. The duo flanks this repertoire with works by well-established composers. The first project along these lines involves the works of André Jolivet (1905–74), with the world-premiere recording of the composer’s complete series of mélodies for voice and piano, released by the Dutch label Brilliant Classics. One of the duo’s next projects is the recording of all of the mélodies of Jean Françaix for the centenary of the composer’s birth, which will be celebrated in 2012.
